1895 Victorian Bathroom Addition
Sidney, IL
19th century farmhouses did not typically have 2nd floor bathrooms. An unfinished storage area on the second floor was converted to a master bathroom by building a dormer. Existing trim was reused or new was milled and finished to match. This space combines the best of old and new with a period-appropriate, hex-tile floor, a “slipper” style soaking tub and antique vanity top and wall cabinets. The patterned slate tile siding on the dormer exterior makes it look like it was there since 1895.
