Small Shade Pergola

Direct sunlight often made this unshaded, west-facing entry door too hot to open!  The gambrel roof made attachment of an attached roof difficult, and some sunlight into the front foyer was desired.  The solution was to build a small, shade pergola.  This pergola allows for vining plants to shade in summer and still provide welcomed sunlight in winter.  The custom-designed, arch-top of the pergola mirrors the arched, second floor dormers.
