Enclosed Porch Refurbish
West Urbana, IL
The overflowing gutters and poorly draining downspouts of this early 1900s porch were causing the concrete slab to sink in one corner. After correcting the slab and tuckpointing the masonry columns, the gutters were outfitted with filters and the downspouts were terminated in an underground French drain, well away from the structure. Rotted screen frames and door were rebuilt and original timbers repaired. The beadboard porch ceiling was salvaged and all wood was refinished, giving a fresh face to this old beauty.
