This Champaign kitchen underwent extensive reconstruction, including the removal of an unnecessary stairwell.
AFTER
Extra-tall upper cabinets with crown mould give height to the room. Door casings and base trim were milled to match the trim in the rest of the house.
BEFORE
The new stove is on the same wall as in this picture.
AFTER
The white bi-fold doors house the new laundry area, moved up from the basement.
BEFORE
This is the same view as the previous AFTER picture. The staircase located in the middle of this picture was taken out to open things up. The staircase wasn't needed, as the house's main staircase led to all parts of the upper level.
AFTER
Removal of the stairwell allowed for the creation of a small breakfast nook with lots of natural lighting.
AFTER
The new spacious kitchen had plenty of room for a tall pantry, seen here in the center of the wall.
